Forests are the world's air conditioning system - the planet's lungs - and we are about to turn it off.
Madagascar is in the throes of massive deforestation due to the misuse of wood fuel as a source of energy for cooking and heating. The rate of consumption of 18 million m³ per year (SNABE) causes the gradual degradation of ecosystems and makes the country more vulnerable to climate change.
To help deal with these problems, Biogasikara Energy contributes with three major objectives: the reduction of deforestation, the creation of green and decent jobs by promoting value chains linked to alternative energies, and the strengthening of resilience in the face of climate change.
